January 1, 2023 - Colleges and universities confirm their participation in the academic year 2023 - 2024 scholarship campaign with NAFSA by submitting the sign-up form.

Spring or Summer 2023 - Students should complete a #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship application for each selected institution by the institutions' deadline, including either an essay or multimedia submission explaining how they will apply their leadership skills in the campus community.


August 1, 2023 - Colleges and universities should notify NAFSA of their institution's scholarship recipients by submitting this form. More information will be sent directly to participating institutions. Please contact us with any questions.

Civil Society Leadership Award 

Given by the Open Society Foundations, this is the world's largest private scholarship programme. They provide thousands of grants every year through a network of national and regional foundations and offices. Many of these grand holders have shaped the Covid 19 policies around the world.
